Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food Supplement

This may be the most versatile canary food available.

It shouldn't be used in place of a good canary seed mix or pelleted diet, but can be invaluable as an addition to your canary's regular menu, especially during the molt, or if you're weaning chicks, colorfeeding, or offering vitamins or other supplements. When your canary is accustomed to eating Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food you won't have any trouble supplementing nutrition with whatever the occasion calls for.

For colorfeeding red canaries: Combine one 12 ounce packet with 6-12 grams of A Song in the Air's Concentrated Color Supplement for Red Canaries. Offer free-choice along with regular diet in a separate container while molting and 2-3 days per week thereafter. Jennifer's supplement is especially formulated to help promote a quick and healthy molt.

For easy administration of vitamins and other supplements: We recommend dry vitamin preparations instead of liquid, as they retain their potency longer without spoilage. Offer Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food free choice for a few days to make sure that your canary isn't overindulging, and that the regular diet is still being consumed. Then combine 2-3 Tablespoons of Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food with 7 days worth of vitamins or other supplements, and offer in its own feeding dish. As long as it remains clean, this can stay with your canary for a full week without any spoilage worries. At the end of the week, discard the remainder and offer a newly mixed week's worth of supplement.

For weaning chicks: Offer free choice in a low dish to fledglings in addition to Birdy Bread or other egg food, soak-seed, etc. Keeping Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food available to fledglings at all times will help insure available nutrition in case of an occasional unavoidable delay of feeding time.

For parents feeding chicks: Offer free choice to parent canaries in addition to regular diet and Birdy Bread or other egg food, soak-seed, etc.

For pampering a bird that's "under the weather": Offer free choice in a low dish along with regular diet.

A final note: Of course supplements such as colorfood and extra vitamins may be combined and offered together with Jennifer's All Purpose Dry Canary Food.

Ingredients: Rolled oats, rolled wheat, shelled chipped sunflower seed, wheat germ, calendula petals, alfalfa leaf, thistle seed, rape seed, flax seed, coarse cornmeal, sesame seed, small white millet seed, anise seed, ground cuttlebone, methionine.
