From Egg to Chick

candled egg at 3 days After just 3 days of incubation, a beating heart may be visible, but some eggs may take up to 7 days to show any development.   1 day old American Singer chicks, dry and hungry. newly hatched chicks
candled egg at 5 days After as little as 5 days of incubation,the interior of the egg turns deep pink, and blood vessels are visible as the circulatory system begins to develop.   1 week after hatching, pin feathers begin to emerge. 1 week old chicks
candled egg at 10 days After 10 days of incubation, the egg is darkening as the active chick grows and fills its space.   2 weeks after hatching, 5 yellow chicks fill their nest. 2 week old chicks
hatching chicks After 14 days the eggs begin to hatch.   3 weeks old, these 4 bronze canaries won't fit in their nest much longer. 3 week old chicks
just hatched chick This yellow canary chick is still wet from hatching.   These 4 week old chicks look almost like adults, but still must eat soft foods. 4 week old chicks
